Guest Post: Online Porn Addiction

I am blessed that given the Internet and this blog, my work is being followed by people from around the world. Today I was contacted via email by an addictions worker named “Mark” , who works for the Ocean Recovery Centre in Britain. Mark , who specializes in Internet Porn Addiction, asked me if I would be kind enough to post a link to an article he wrote on the topic of online porn addiction. I am often sent such articles by vendors who are wishing to sell a product, which is not something that I presently accommodate, BUT after reading Mark’s article it was different; it wasn’t about selling a product, but rather understanding the who, what, where, how and why of Internet Porn Addiction and what families can do to help cope with this very real challenge, especially with our kids. I have personally met 3 teens in our presentation (under the age of 16), 2 males and 1 female, who are presently in counselling for being addicted to internet porn. Educating and speaking about healthy human sexuality with our kids, is often a very uncomfortable parenting responsibility that many of us just “put off” to another day or just willfully ignore all together. In todays online world,  parents need to start talking with our kids about the difference between healthy human sexuality and pornography, and its emotional, psychological and physical consequences to young brains. This is what Mark has fabulously  done in his article, and thus why I am honoured to share it here with all my followers. If there is an article that should be liked and passed on, this is one of those articles. Please click on the below noted shortened Google link for the article.
